ACAD 1601 – Academic Writing Annotated Bibliography FORMAT: APA style Purpose: An annotated bibliography is a bibliography (a list of sources) for a specific project that have been read and assessed. This assessment is included as an annotation (a note) for each source. This assignment will evaluate the student’s ability to paraphrase and summarize the sources, including the correct integration of quotations, his/her ability to connect it to the research essay assignment, and his/her correct use of formatting for the citations. This assignment is part of the research process for your research paper. You need to find three academic sources for your research essay for this class. One of these sources must be peer- reviewed, and you must provide a citation and annotation for each. This topic is deliberately broad; it is intended to provide a starting point rather than a definitive direction for your paper. You can choose one of the issues that Alexandra Robbins identifies in The Nurses, or you can choose something else that you think is relevant. Remember that you need to make an argument, and then support that argument through your research. Make sure that you explain, in detail, the issue that you’ve chosen and why you think that it has a significant impact on nurses. You are also expected to propose possible solutions to the problem.
