You are to develop and present a research assignment of a topic which explores concepts of food ethics and sustainability providing a culinary emphasis. The research assignment is not an extension of your case study assignment but is a new topic. The research assignment is to be presented in a media publication format of your
choice.
Your research assignment should be minimum 3000 words, including the supplementary information and excluding recipes.
As the format is not an academic paper, no references are to appear in the article. However, you are required to provide an annotated bibliography detailing your
research resources in attached supplementary information (template provided).

1. Critically evaluate concepts of food ethics and sustainability connected to interdependent dimensions of social justice, the environment, and the economy through
the exploration of exemplars in the food chain across multiple scales of relevance from local to global.
2. Demonstrate how food ethics and sustainability relates to your lives and how your values and chosen actions impact food quality in a professional context and within
society.
3. Promote change-based concepts of food ethics and sustainability translated into actions through critical engagement with relevant challenges and solutions to
develop and implement practical strategies in a culinary context.
4. Critically discuss how provenance and artisanal driven cuisine contribute to cultural and regional identity and the preservation of traditional food pathways.
