For this assignment, you will write up a case study applying a theoretical perspective to an individual. The purpose of this assignment is to assess the ability to understand an individual’s conflicts or struggles from a theoretical lens. You will be expected to describe your individual using the Life Span and Life Course Theories highlighting the ways in which the theoretical perspective helps make sense of this individual and also how the theory may fall short. For this assignment, you will include the following headings (in bold): 1. Name and origin of individual In this section, clearly state the name of the individual and their origin (from where you are selecting this individual). Provide context of the individual’s environment at the point in time in which you’re describing them. 2. Demographics In this section, include the demographic information of this individual (age, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, spirituality, religiosity, SES). 3. Application of theoretical concepts, tasks, and/or expectations In this section, clearly outline each of the concepts, tasks, and/or expectations related to your chosen theory, and how each of these apply to your individual’s identity, upbringing, struggles/ conflicts, etc. 4. Limitations of theoretical perspective In this section, describe the limitations of the theory as it relates to your character. Clearly illustrate the ways in which the theory falls short in explaining any conflicts or struggles your individual may be experiencing.
