This assignment provides you with the opportunity to sharpen your skills in searching the literature through the OU Gangwish Library or Google Scholar as well as find a pertinent article to briefly critique.
Search the nursing literature for an article that uses a theory (metatheory, grand, middle-range, or practice) for either a research study or as an application of the theory to practice. If you find a research article, you will be able to use it for your article critique assignment in week 4. Save the article as a PDF to submit with your critique. Be sure to submit your worksheet and the PDF of your article in the same attempt. Do not submit them as multiple separate attempts.
Address the following in your brief article critique:
Identify the search terms along with the database(s) used. Provide the limits used within the search (years– within the past 5 years, full text, etc.) Outline of the main points of the theory used(you may need to find information from additional resources including the textbook) Provide an overview of the article (purpose/aim, theory used, methodology, results, limitations, implications) What value does this theory have as a foundation for the research? What is the connection? Describe the value of the theory and article results for nursing education, research, and practice. Reflections on findings.
