Homework fights usually come from uncertainty: when to start, how long it will take, and who is in charge of it.

Same time, same place

Pick a regular start time and a fixed spot. Routine removes the daily negotiation.

Break it into chunks

Write the tasks on a list and tick them off. Short breaks between tasks help younger children reset.

✍️
Let them choose the order of tasks. A little control goes a long way.

Step back

Be nearby and available, but let them try first. If one subject causes most of the arguments, that’s often where extra help pays off.
