Critical Summaries on Human Development Over the Lifespan (CSWE Core Competency 2,6,7,8,9)
This assignment is in a traditional paper format. This assignment allows students to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and cognitive and affective processes:
An understanding of the life span perspective and other theories of human behavior.
Critical evaluation and application of this knowledge to examine an issue that faces individuals, families, and/or groups during a given portion of the lifespan.
An understanding of how diversity and differences characterize and shape human development among individuals, families, and/or groups.
Implications for practice: assessment, intervention, evaluation.
Follow the guidelines provided in the syllabus for written assignments.
The assignment guidelines are below:
Students are required to complete TWO summaries over the course of the semester from Chapters 2 through 10. Students will identify two chapters to complete summaries during week 1 Discussion Board Assignments.
Identify and provide a brief overview of an identified portion of the lifespan (refer to Chapters 2 through 10 for lifespan divisions). NOTE: This is not intended to be a summary of the chapter.
Apply Erickson’s theory of psychosocial development or another one of the theoretical perspectives described in the text.
A brief description of an issue or topic that may affect individuals, families, and/or groups during this portion of the lifespan.
A brief discussion of how the issue/topic may affect and/or be experienced by diverse populations and potential disparities. Examples: Conception, Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Substance Abuse
Discuss implications for assessment, intervention, and evaluation with this population based on the information above.
Use TWO peer-reviewed articles published since 2018 to support your responses. The Hutchinson text is also expected to be cited in addition to the two scholarly articles.
All papers must be in APA format and no more than THREE pages long. This does not include the cover and reference page.
Papers written in the THIRD Person.
